What are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers offer a safe and attractive way to repair chipped or discolored teeth or gaps between teeth. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are custom fit over the surface of your teeth for a balanced, white, natural-looking result. Porcelain veneers offer numerous aesthetic benefits. Because they are ceramic, veneers can be customized to match the color and texture of surrounding natural teeth flawlessly; they look and feel completely natural. Additionally, porcelain is one of the most durable and stain-resistant bonding materials available.
What to Expect
Every porcelain veneer procedure and smile makeover is a custom process starting with a personal consultation with Dr. Denison. During this consultation Dr. Denison will take time to get to know you, your goals, and answer all of your questions regarding the procedure.
- Diagnosis and treatment planning: During your first appointment, Dr. Denison will examine your teeth to make sure dental veneers are the appropriate solution for you.
- Preparation & Impression: Using the Cerec machine, Dr. Denison can often make your veneers in one visit. In some cases, Dr. Denison will make a models of your teeth and models are sent out to a dental laboratory, which in turn constructs your veneers.
- Bonding: A special cement is applied to the veneer and the veneer is then placed on your tooth. Once properly position on the tooth, we use a special light beam to the dental veneer, which activates chemicals in the cement, causing it to harden or cure very quickly.
